This website showcases art and design work created by Dr Donna Winderbank-Scott in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel.
Donna’s work has been featured in various exhibitions and is on permanent display in several locations in the South of England. She also undertakes private, charity, and corporate commissions.
When not painting, she is a Consultant Neonatologist in Southampton, combining medicine, education, creativity and LEGO whenever possible.

Media
Oils
The primary media used for large format and landscape paintings is oil on stretched canvas or canvas board. Some paintings use traditional washes and layering techniques to show fine detail, whilst others use palette knives and impasto to create implied detail instead.
Acrylic
Again, Donna uses acrylic in 2 ways – traditionally to create realistic images and in a more contemporary way with tools, printing, mark-making – incorporating chaos and serendipity into the image.
Pastel
Working in soft pastel is the most recent addition to Donna’s repertoire. Backgrounds and base colours are painted in Panpastels on Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper, before layers of pastel pencils are used to create the detail.
